Like many people I have had a camera of one sort or another all of my life, but discovering the immediacy of digital photography has brought my interest in creating images back to life. This, combined with David Rann’s tuition and his belief in me, has encouraged me to think that I might do more.
My main area of interest is travel photography; photographing the landscapes, townscapes and people as I visit different countries and cultures around the world. I have also experimented with still life photography.
My work as an educationalist shows me the impact that images and the process of creating them can have on young people and adults alike. I routinely use my own photographs to engage people in learning as well as a means of capturing the learning experience it as it happens.
I’ve spent much more time looking at other people’s images than making my own and as a viewer I am drawn to other people’s images where they show structural beauty and/or stunning composition. These are the qualities that I aim for in the photographs I take.
